The event, organised by Team Leader Ashleigh Wadeson and held at the Masonic Hall in Rugby, was very well attended by service users, their families, trustees, staff and friends, and raised nearly £1,500.
Rugby’s Mayor, Councillor Mr Don Williams, gave a speech highlighting New Directions’ valuable work in the community and resident, Janine Wheatley gave an overview of her life, pointing out how new opportunities had given her greater independence and happiness, and she thanked staff for their support
Wendy Back, former trustee, has been appointed as Chairperson on New Directions Board of Trustees.
She takes over from Joanne Jarman who has now taken the role of Treasurer. The Board is now seeking new trustees with legal, human resources, housing and fundraising skills, and family experience of disability and related issues.
