We have now re-opened our respite service at Milner House to priority respite stays. This has been a huge team effort and means that families and individuals who have been desperate for a respite break can now be accommodated by us. We are delighted to have taken this significant step back towards having all of our services up and running. Feedback from our Public Health and Infection Control colleagues gave high praise for the risk assessments and the infection control measures put in place.

Milner House is our pioneering, fully adapted, modern 3 bedroomed respite home away from home. You can come and stay with us for a short or longer stay. The experienced staff work alongside you to learn new skills, become more independent, take on new opportunities and make new friends.

OUR VALUES:

CHOICE

INDEPENDENCE

EQUALITY

New Directions has been caring for adults with learning difficulties in the Rugby Community for over 65 years.

During the 1950’s it was created as a respite service by the parents of children with a learning disability.

With hard work, incredible dedication and belief in making a difference, our team at New Directions are proud of what they have achieved.

Milner House is designed to meet the changing needs and wishes of people with learning and physical disabilities. We can provide people with the opportunity to take a break from their carer or family environment, a holiday or a new experience with support. Your stay could be an opportunity to engage in new local activities and groups, make new friends and build relationships while maintaining your own links with the community. We can offer you a homely environment where highly trained, friendly staff will support you to explore your own life choices or simply take a break.
Situated in a quiet location in the heart of Rugby town community with easy access to public transport, Milner House is equipped to meet all individuals’ needs. The home has all ground floor accommodation with specialist equipment. There are three large bedrooms all en-suite, spacious living and dining areas and an attractive courtyard garden outside.

As well as supporting you with enhancing your life skills we encourage you to choose activities outside of the home such as keeping fit and healthy, theatre trips, meals out and attending events that are of interest to you.  We work alongside you to enable you to do the things you choose during your stay.

If you would like us to support you within your own home then we can work with you to put this support in place.
