Here at New Directions, just like every other Health and Social Care provider in the UK, we have been putting measures in place to protect the health and wellbeing of those we support and our staff in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.

We had already asked anyone who was unwell to stop visiting our services and we will now ask everyone not to visit these services during the crisis except for health and social care professionals. We closed our day opportunities service ‘CCN’ yesterday as a preventative measure and have strict infection controls in place.

Any of our staff who are feeling unwell in the slightest have taken the direct advice of NHS111 and are self-isolating to protect the people we support and their colleagues. We are following all national guidance to keep our services free from infection and will help anyone we support to self-isolate if they have any symptoms.

As the pandemic progresses we will implement each section of our response plan as appropriate – keeping life as normal as possible for the people we support whilst at the same time doing everything we can to help stem the spread of the virus across the country. We will of course facilitate contact between the people we support and their families and friends as much and as creatively as we can, whether by telephone, Skype, Facetime etc.

You can take great reassurance from the professionalism and dedication of our staff team that no matter what, the highest standards of care will always be provided.

If you have any concerns at all about Coronavirus and our services, please contact us on: 01788 573318 or email admin@newdirectionsrugby.org.uk
