Limited Company Status
In 1991, Rugby Mencap obtained Limited Company status and later formed a sub group ‘RMH Homes’ to separately manage it’s residential accommodation.
A Board of Trustees was established, led by Chairman, Peter Scott.

In 1995, a further single-storey extension was added to Richmond Lodge, creating a new flat (27a) above the playgroup room to accommodate three additional residents. Following its closure in 1999, the former playgroup room was converted into another flat (27b).
By the late 90s the company provided care for 42 residents across it’s four properties; Richmond Lodge, Gateway House, Vicarage Road and Elsee Road.

In 1996, Rugby Mencap marked its 50th anniversary by staging “Britain’s biggest ever tea party,” sponsored by Fox’s Biscuits, and hosting a celebratory event at a local nightclub.
Throughout the 1990s, the people of Rugby and local businesses continued to raise funds to support the charity – helping to finance and extend the playgroup provision, furnish accommodation and, in 1999, to replace items stolen during a break-in at Richmond Lodge.
