Milner House Expansion

"At New Directions we have seen an increase in requests for respite for adults with learning disabilities in Rugby and surrounding areas over the last few years. When we closed one of our residential services on Vicarage Road we saw an opportunity to be able to support more customers and families with additional beds at respite. We worked to re-develop the service from a six bedded service to a four bedded service with on-suite facilities and a ground floor bedroom complete with an over track hoist. The transformation has been amazing and we welcomed our first customer, Sue, on the 16th March 2026."

Milner House Expanision Complete:

Work to expand our respite service at Vicarage Road has now been completed. This improvement will allow us to support more families who rely on short breaks for their loved ones.

As part of the expansion, we will be increasing the number of respite beds from three to seven, helping us respond to the high demand for this much-needed service.

We are on track to open four additional respite beds in mid-March 2026. This will significantly increase the support we can offer to families and carers who need flexible, short-term care.

Welcoming Our New Deputy Manager:

We are very happy to welcome Tosin Arannilewa as the new Deputy Manager at Milner House.

Tosin has been part of New Directions since 2019 and has worked in several roles, including Support Worker, Team Leader and Deputy Manager within our supported living services. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.

Although Tosin is new to respite care, she will be supported through a thorough handover with current Deputy Manager Andrea Hann. She will also be supported by Carol Payne and Sarah Chilton as she settles into her new role.

Team Update:

We are also pleased to announce that Cacey Phillips will be stepping into the role of Team Leader at Milner House.

Cacey joined us in 2018 as a Senior Support Worker and has a strong understanding of the importance of respite care for families and carers. She will be working closely with Tosin, Sarah and Carol to ensure we continue delivering the high-quality care and support that families expect from Milner House.
