The local branch of Handelsbanken in Rugby raised £155 for New Directions at their annual drinks reception. There was a prize business card draw at the event with voluntary donations and a top prize of a Rugby Football signed by the WASPS team. Funds raised by the bank were donated towards the New Directions’ 65th anniversary celebrations, which was an event to thank those involved with the charity over the years, including people with disabilities, their families and carers, volunteers and many others who have provided their support.

New Directions’ CEO Doreen Woodward and Finance Manager Jo Jarman received the cheque from Handlesbanken Corporate Manager, Nigel Wood and thanked him on behalf of the people that the charity supports for their involvement. Established 65 years ago, by families of people with disabilities in Rugby, New Directions reacts to the changing needs and wishes of the people the charity supports, their families and carers, as well as listening and responding to the requests of the people it is yet to support.
Nigel Wood said, “Handelsbanken is delighted to be associated with a local, growing charity as New Directions embarks on the next stage of its journey.”
